Golf Wednesday 10/14

Good afternoon everyone

Tomorrow, Wednesday 10/14, the course will be opening at 12pm, noon, for play.   This will allow time for the deep tine aerification to wrap up along with setting the course up.   I am very pleased with the process today.  We will be double rolling the greens tomorrow, not only to smooth them out but it also helps the greens profile collapse in on itself and fill the channels.  By Friday there will be no issues with ball roll but be prepared for soft greens, especially with the incoming rain.  The depth at which the deep tining  reached was 8-10″, which will help us maintain a good root depth that translates to great greens surfaces year around.  

Chipping Green Update

The perimeter of the new chipping green was seeded last Friday and there is already germination of the Kentucky Bluegrass seedlings.  The green surface will either be seeded tomorrow or Thursday.  I am awaiting to see how the rain system will moves through.  I am trying to avoid a washout situation due to the amount of sand we added to the base of the green.  Soil amendments were added today and will be worked into the profile tomorrow, prior to seeding. I’m excited to almost have this wrapped up so that you all can enjoy the new practice facility next season.
